Recently my son, Ben participated in World Maths Day. Over the two and a half days the event was open, Ben worked hard to answer as many questions as he could using my iPhone. After the dust settled, he had answered 10,768 questions correctly, good for 35th place in the world! As a result of his work, Ben was presented with a nice certificate by his teacher and principal.
Unfortunately, you wouldn’t know that he even participated. Unfortunately, his school does not allow its students to use their real names for such activities. Thus, his name in this competition was “2G” – because he was the second student alphabetically in Mr. Gagnon’s class. He and Mr. Gagnon made the following video as a parody of his award:
